Upcoming Projects
Trail Maintenance
Stadium area has been redone; cleared, brushed and levelled. Trails have been widened and brushed.
A huge THANK YOU to Pat O'Reilly for all his work and EnCana and the Ministry of Forests for their donation to help cover the costs of this project.
Contact Pat for more info, 782-8796.
Clearing Brush for Stadium for Teaching Area
The stadium, located just South of the current trailhead shelter, has been cleared and will become our race start and finish.
Race Office
Several years ago the club was donated the old Co-op Gas Bar. As it was too rotten to use, the club received donated materials towards the construction of a new building which we eventually intend to use as a Race Office.
In the interim, the building has been rented out as an office to oil patch companies, and the rent is used to cover club projects and operating costs.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped out!
Adventure Ski Area
The Adventure Ski area is located East of the trailhead shelter. This area has been cleared to provide teaching terrain for the ski league program as well as a place for skiers to play and practice some basic techniques.
Volunteers needed!
Other Improvements
We appreciate the use of our newwer twin track snowmobile . It allows us to groom and set tracks in minimal snow conditions.
The club has recently purchased a roller for the twin track so that trails can be packed earlier than with the heavier Snow Cat.
The club has used ski equipment for use by anyone interested in trying out the sport. We also purchased a full set of skis to outfit a school class. To check out our selection, call Ed at 782-7257
If you have equipment for sale or exchange please contact Ed at 782-7257.
We are looking at various feasible options for lighting the teaching area and 3.2 km of the top loops (ie. Coyote, Lynx)
We have aquired a newer Snow Cat and groomer to create better skiing conditions.
We would like to build a secure shelter to house our new Snow Cat and grooming equipment.
THANK YOU to the DCAA, EnCana, the Regional District and the City of Dawson Creek for making these improvements possible through their support..
